Fr. Keketso Mothuli

From Matatiele, to Rome and to St. Pius X

The Parish is very excited to welcome Fr. Keketso Mothuli who was born on 20th April 1987 in Matatiele, a small town in the Northern Eastern Cape. He comes from the Diocese of Kokstad which was the mission territory of the Franciscans where they served from its days when when it was an Apostolic Prefecture till it became a Diocese.


He joined the Order of Friars Minor in 2006 as a postulant at St Francis house of Studies, Kraal. He went to do the novitiate in Besters, outside Ladysmith in KZN. He came back to begin Philosophy and Theology at St John Vianney Seminary in 2008. He was solemnly professed in the Order of Friars Minor, Province of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Southern Africa in January 2014. After completing his seminary training in May 2015, he was ordained a Deacon and went to do his pastoral work at St Joseph’s Mission, eMbongolwane in the Diocese of Eshowe. He was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood on the 16th of December 2015 and went back to assist at Mbongolwane for few months before he was sent to Rome, Antonianum Pontifical University for further studies in 2016.

He came back from Rome and went to the Vaal Triangle where he served as Master of Novices for two novitiate canonical years before he was coming to St Pius X parish as assistant to the Parish Priests.
